What you will do
Johnson Controls (“JCI”) is seeking an experienced compliance candidate to serve as Compliance Specialist in NEA (Japan/Korea) with primary responsibilities to (i) support Global Training Program led by Global Training Lead in Europe, (ii) to support Global Champion Program led by Global Champion Program in LATAM, and (iii) with training promote compliance with various anti-corruption, fair competition, and similar compliance-related laws. This person will work closely with business management, compliance professionals, and other lawyers in the Law Department in support of JCI’s compliance programs in China with an emphasis on anti-corruption compliance.
Reporting to APAC Compliance Counsel, this position will have regional responsibilities specifically to oversee JCI’s anticorruption program. He or she will work as part of JCI’s global Law team and will also work closely with compliance and audit personnel at both corporate and business levels in managing and resolving compliance issues, focusing on compliance with anticorruption laws.
This position requires someone with strong compliance and interpersonal skills, as it will involve direct interaction and communication with senior-level executives, as well as business-level employees throughout the region. The candidate must demonstrate sound judgment and unwavering ethics, given the complexities and challenges of global compliance requirements.
How you will do it
Supporting the Global Training Program led by led by Global Training Lead in Europe, including generating content, data analysis.
Supporting Champion Program led by Global Champion Program in LATAM, including generating content, data analysis and leading Champion Connect calls.
Coordinating Global Compliance all-hands meeting (bi-monthly).
Supporting NEA (Japan and Korea) as compliance specialist, including delivering trainings, communications and regular business counseling on Code of Ethics and associated compliance policies, procedures, and controls and review high-risk transactions
Partnering in promoting a culture of compliance, focusing on anticorruption, fair competition and etc.
Developing effective lines of communication with senior regional and segment management.
Assisting with internal investigations and mitigation actions, conducting periodic risk assessments and response plans, and internal monitoring and auditing.
Responding promptly to detected offenses, including development of corrective actions.
Supporting and coordinating in due diligence of third parties when needed.
What we look for
61 Fluent in English. Japanese and Korea could be a plus.
61 Bachelor’s degree in finance control, internal audit and law.
61 Demonstrated practice experience in anti-bribery (FCPA) counseling and enforcement, competition law and similar regulatory regimes.
61 Demonstrated willingness to understand business operations and provide solution-oriented compliance guidance.
61 Eager to contribute innovative ideas and actively participate in training and communication initiatives
61 Collaborative mindset to work closely with cross-functional teams and multiple cultures.
61 Strong deck drafting skills would be a plus or admitted to practice in a qualified jurisdiction with a minimum of 4 years practice experience in a national law firm or in-house corporate setting.
